Increase average order value
Increase your average order value, without the limits
Every app can add an upsell. Funnelish sells at every step, with no limit on how many offers you run or how they look, and the numbers show what each step is worth:

Why AOV matters
Why AOV is the lever for paid traffic
You already know these three. Together they are why a higher average order value is the fastest way to make more from every ad you run.
The click costs the same
Meta, TikTok and Google charge for the click or the impression, not for the size of the order. A buyer who spends twice as much cost you exactly the same click as the one who bought a single pouch.
Every extra dollar is margin
The buyer is already at checkout. A bundle, a bump or an upsell adds revenue without adding ad spend, so after product cost it goes straight to profit.
Bigger orders buy more customers
When each first order is worth more, you can pay more to acquire a buyer and still make money. That is how a brand outbids its competitors in the same ad auction and keeps scaling.
Step 1 · The offer on the page
Bundles and quantity breaks that sell the bigger pack
The first lift happens before checkout. Offer two or three units at a better price per unit, add subscribe and save, and lay it out however your offer reads best.
- Bundles, quantity breaks and subscribe and save Buy 1, Buy 2, Buy 3, mix and match, or a free gift above a threshold.
- Any layout Cards, a table, a slider or your own design. You are not limited to the slot a theme leaves for an app.
- Built in the page builder or drafted by Funnelish AI Funnelish AI drafts the pages, copy and offers. You edit them in the page builder.

Step 2 · Order bumps at checkout
Order bumps: as many as you want, anywhere in the checkout
An order bump is a one-tick add-on next to the order the buyer is already placing. In Funnelish there is no limit on how many, what kind or where they sit.
- Several at once Offer two, three or four bumps on the same checkout.
- Mixed types A product, a warranty, shipping protection or a rush option, side by side.
- Any position Inside the order summary, above the pay button or anywhere else in the checkout.
- No theme restriction The checkout is yours, on your domain, with your fields and your layout.
No public benchmark we would cite. One tick, same order, no second checkout.

Step 3 · After payment
One-click post-purchase upsells and downsells
Right after payment, before the thank-you page, the buyer sees one more offer. One click adds it to the order, charged to the card already on file, so nobody types their details again.
- Unlimited offers Run one upsell or a sequence of them. There is no cap.
- Branching A yes leads to the next offer, a no to a downsell at a lower price.
- No card re-entry Every accepted offer is charged to the card on file, in the same order.

Step 4 · Subscriptions
Subscriptions: the long average order value
A first order is one payment. A subscriber pays again every month. Sell subscribe and save right in the funnel and keep the renewals coming.
- Sold in the funnel Subscribe and save sits on the offer and at checkout, not in a separate app. Subscriptions
- Renewals routed across gateways Gateway-agnostic subscriptions managed by Funnelish renew on any connected gateway, up to 0.5% per transaction because we run the renewal scheduler, retries, skips and plan changes. Billed by your own gateway: no Funnelish fee.
- Portals that turn cancels into skips Subscribers skip, pause or change the date right next to Cancel in a customer portal with your brand.

Step 5 · The customer portal
The portal: the sale after the sale
Subscribers come back to the portal to manage their plan. That makes it a place to sell. Related offers sit right next to the subscription and are accepted with one click, charged to the card on file.
- Add to the next order A product rides along with the next renewal. No new checkout, no card re-entry.
- Start a new subscription or buy a one-off A second product on its own schedule, or a single order that ships now.
- 100% customizable Build the portal like any funnel page, so it fits your brand, your selling style and your layout. On the Advanced plan. Customer portals

Step 6 · Approval
Approve the bigger order
Bigger amounts draw more caution from card issuers, so they get soft-declined more often. Smart payment routing retries a soft decline on your next gateway before the shopper sees an error.
- Same card form, one attempt for the shopper The retry happens behind the checkout.
- Up to 0.3% per routed transaction Because the card sits in a secure vault that works across gateways. On the Advanced plan. Smart payment routing
Recovered renewals, no figure we would cite. A retried soft decline is an order kept, which protects the lift the other five steps built.
What each step is worth
Six steps, in numbers
Relative figures, each with its source: one-click upsells measured on Funnelish, the rest from public cases. Never a promise. The lift your brand sees depends on your offer, your prices and your traffic, so test it on your own funnel.

Store theme vs funnel
Why this is hard in a rigid store
A store theme is built for browsing a catalog. Offers get added through apps, in the places the theme and checkout allow. A Funnelish funnel is built around the offer, so nothing limits how you raise the order.
| Typical store theme | Funnelish | |
|---|---|---|
| Bundles and quantity breaks | Yes: Usually through an app, in the spot the theme leaves for it | Yes: Built in, any layout, on any page |
| Order bumps: how many | No: Often one offer, through an app | Yes: As many as the offer needs |
| Order bumps: what kind | No: Mostly products | Yes: Products, warranties, shipping protection, rush options, mixed |
| Order bumps: where | No: Where the app or checkout allows | Yes: Anywhere in the checkout, inside the summary or above the pay button |
| One-click post-purchase upsells | Yes: Through an app, within the platform's limits | Yes: Built in, unlimited, charged to the card on file |
| Downsells and branching | No: Depends on the app | Yes: Yes and no paths for every offer |
| Checkout fields and layout | No: Set by the platform and plan | Yes: Your fields, your steps, your layout, on your domain |
| Offers inside the account or portal | No: A separate app, or none | Yes: One-click offers in a portal you design |
| Subscriptions in the funnel | No: A separate subscription app | Yes: Built in, on the offer and at checkout |
| Analytics | No: Store-wide reports | Yes: AOV and conversion per funnel, step and offer |
Store themes vary by platform, plan and the apps installed. Funnelish works with or without Shopify.
Measure it
See AOV per funnel, per step and per offer
Know which bundle, which bump and which upsell earn their place. Then split test two offers and let the numbers pick.
- AOV per funnel, step and offer Take rate and revenue for every bump and upsell in analytics.
- Split test two offers Run Buy 2 against Buy 3, or two upsells, on the same traffic in the page builder.
- Pick on revenue per visitor So a bigger order never hides a drop in conversion rate.

FAQ
Average order value, answered
What is average order value and how do you calculate it?
Average order value (AOV) is the average amount a customer spends per order. The formula is AOV = total revenue ÷ number of orders. If a funnel takes $12,000 from 150 orders, its AOV is $80. Count bumps and upsells as part of the order they were added to, and work it out per funnel and per traffic source, not only store-wide.
How do you increase average order value in ecommerce?
Give every buyer a reason to add more at each point of the purchase: bundles and quantity breaks on the offer page, order bumps at checkout, one-click upsells and downsells after payment, and subscribe and save so the order repeats. Then make sure the bigger order gets approved, and measure each step so you keep the offers that work.
Do order bumps hurt conversion rate?
A bump is a checkbox next to the order the buyer is already placing, so it is easy to ignore. Keep bumps relevant to the main product and small next to its price. To be sure, split test the checkout with and without a bump and compare conversion rate and revenue per visitor, not AOV alone.
How many upsells is too many?
There is no fixed number, and Funnelish sets no cap. Each offer should make sense next to what was just bought. Watch the take rate of every offer and the refunds that follow it in analytics, and drop offers that nobody takes. Many brands run one or two upsells and a downsell.
What is a post-purchase one-click upsell?
An offer shown right after payment, before the thank-you page. The buyer accepts with one click and the charge goes to the card they just used, so they never type their details again. In Funnelish, a yes can lead to another offer and a no to a downsell.
One-click upsells guideCan I sell inside the customer portal?
Yes. Subscribers who log in to manage their plan can accept related offers with one click, charged to the card on file: add a product to the next order or renewal, start a new subscription or buy a one-off. The portal is fully customizable, so the offers sit wherever they fit your brand and layout. Customer portals are on the Advanced plan.
Customer portalsDoes this work with Shopify?
Yes, with or without Shopify. If you use Shopify, each paid order, including its bumps and upsells, syncs to your store as one order and stock updates, so you keep fulfilling in Shopify.
Funnelish for ShopifyCan Funnelish AI draft the offers?
Yes. Describe the product or paste your store link, and Funnelish AI drafts the pages, copy and offers of a full funnel with checkout and upsells. You edit everything in the page builder before it goes live.
Funnelish AIWhat does it cost?
Funnelish takes 0% of your revenue on every plan, and the page builder, checkout, order bumps and one-click upsells are on every plan, from $49 a month. Two optional features carry a usage fee because we run infrastructure on every payment: gateway-agnostic subscriptions managed by Funnelish, up to 0.5% per transaction (renewal scheduling, retries, skips and plan changes), and smart payment routing, up to 0.3% per routed transaction (a card vault that works across your gateways).
